Sheri and Adam's Engagement Portraits

Recently we had the privilege of photographing Jason's sister Sheri (my sister-in-law) and her soon-to-be husband Adam. It was too much fun! These are some of the highlight shots. They wanted to incorporate their common interests and things they like to do together as a couple to keep it light, fresh, and fun. This was also the first session in which Jason held the camera the entire time, while I posed! (Instead of vice-a-versa)

Stacey and Jeff's Engagement Session

Stacey and Jeff decided to get their engagement portraits done at Shell Beach La Jolla, since that is where Jeff proposed to Stacey. As it turned out their exact proposal spot was under water with the high tide! But it was an absolutely beatuiful location for their engagement portraits and they turned out great despite the slightly grumpy weather. They are a really fun couple to photograph and we are looking forward to their wedding!

I could not wait to share these images that were just taken yesterday. This is another favorite theme of mine: the little chef! It's totally cute! So versatile too; you can have a soup chef, a bread baker, a spaghetti chef, or a pastry chef... etc. etc. depending on your child's personality and your preference. And what great portraits to hang in the kitchen! Enjoy.

And you will also notice a theme... it rained on their wedding day, and they brought the same umbrella that we used in their engagement session. Too cute! One of my absolute favorite prop sets to use is the "bath time" baby set. What could be more adorable than a 5 month old playing in his bath tub? This scene was actually created with his very own bath tub and towels. A great personal touch! These will be perfect for Mommy to hang up in the bathroom!

Amy and Caleb - Engagement Session

When I found out that it was going to be raining on the Saturday of Amy and Caleb's engagement session my first thought was that we would need to reschedule. I did consider the thought that it might be cute to do pictures in the rain, but figured that that idea might be too "artsy" for them as customers. Before I had even contacted them to reschedule Amy wrote to me asking if it would be okay to go ahead and take pictures in the rain. I was so excited that she wanted to go for it! The day came and the absolute pouring stopped just enough to really enjoy the puddles and raindrops glistening on the greenery. They came out great and I can't wait for their wedding!

As photographers we knew that the portraits were going to be very important for our own wedding. We did not hesitate in hiring our good friend Stacey Thrasher as our main photographer. She did an absolutely wonderful job! She brought along her boyfriend as an assistant and his images came out great as well. And then we also had Bekah's previous co-worker and good friend Lori walking around with Bekah's camera to supplement. Between the three photographers and a few snapshots taken by guests we have an absolutely wonderful collection of images to keep those moments in our memories. Thank you everyone!

Desi and Tim - Wedding

My first Greek wedding! Desi and Tim were great and their reception had a very fun intimate atmosphere. My favorite images were the ones with the bay and the San Diego skyline in the background. What a great location to have your wedding pictures taken. During the reception I even stole a minute to take a few images of the view to knit together as a panoramic. The weather was perfect and the pictures came out spectacular!

Letty and Jose Pregnancy

Letty and Jose chose Balboa Park for their pregnancy session. This is a nice location if you don't mind doing some walking to get to the different areas. I sometimes wonder if it's overdone, because every time I'm there I see several other photographers working there too. But really that means it's a hot spot! If photographs came out blah there, no one would photograph there. So it's a good sign to see it's popular. Plus, as you can see they came out absolutely beautiful!
